      Dearest Gael,
The preparations -- the funerals and services -- the burial -- all overwhelming I know. Not much time for you to have for you and yet, you are surrounded by love.
Tho' I cannot be with you in MI or AZ in body, my heart and head will be there with and for you. You have been such an amazing support for me -- let me be there for you.
      With love and sadness,
      Joan

      Mrs. Sandoval:

My family and I are sorry for your loss. My wife, Cynthia, is a cousin of Ricky's from the El Paso Tx area. I never met him but she always spoke warmly of her cousin. My family and I offer our prayers to you and your family. Ricky has gone to meet God and his pain is ended. While I know you would rather have him here laughing and smiling with you, know that you and your family will always carry him in your hearts. He is still in the security business and will be watching over his family as the hand of Jesus rests on his shoulder.

      Gael and the Sandoval family,

I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Ricky through the NFL and at the Superbowl in Detroit. He was a class act and someone who went out of the way to help and assist. I looked forward to my visits to Detroit and his trips to San Diego. He fought a brave and long battle which motivated and inspired others. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, as this is still a difficult week for everyone that knew and had the pleasure of working with him. My deepest sympathy.

I had the pleasure of meeting Ricky at one of the Lions games. He had this big smile after I had given the refs a piece of my mind in no uncertain terms. I thought "oh I am going toget thrown out of the stadium" as Ricky heard me. But no with a smile he came up to use in the stand ( i sit in row one behind the bench) and shook my hand as said " we need more fans liek you". That was the start of a stadium friendship. It will be sad not to see him standing there to greet us, but I know he is home with God and will be looking down on us. My thoughts and prayers to yu and the family during this diffucult time. He fought a strong fight. for all who knew him - May his Memory be Eternal.
